Response Generation Process:
The Research Intelligence Assistant uses AI Agents to generate responses in a clear, structured workflow:
- Question interpretation: The AI Agents first analyze the question to understand its intent, determine the information being requested and assess whether the assistant can support the query. If needed, the assistant will ask clarifying questions before proceeding.
- Data retrieval: Once the question is fully understood, the agents generate queries and execute them against the underlying data sources. These include bibliometric databases, funding opportunity databases and emerging topic databases, with additional sources to be integrated in the future.
- Answer compilation: After retrieving the relevant and factual data, the assistant compiles the results into a comprehensive response. This step includes:
- Displaying the query strategy used, including the specific queries run.
- Visualizing data where appropriate for better interpretation.
- Generating key highlights and recommendations based on the retrieved information.
- Suggest questions for further investigation or a link to the corresponding page to explore the data in the module.
