Note: This feature is available only to administrators with the role "Organization Admin”. An admin can only edit their own organization’s data.
A user admin can set up users with these roles.
The Organization Management page allows you to view, search, and manage the hierarchical structure of your organization. Referred to as departments, this includes schools, faculties, departments, centers, and other organizational units.
Accurate organizational data ensures correct affiliation of researchers and supports reliable reporting and analytics.
Navigation
At the top of the page you’ll find Page tabs:
- Organization management: Shows the department structure list and actions.
- Change history: Allows you to review recent changes made to the organization data.

Page Overview
The page includes:
- Search Departments - Allows you to search for departments by name
- Organization structure– You can browse the full hierarchy
- Expand – Displays child units under parent departments
- Collapse – Hides child units to simplify the view
Available actions
- When you click on a department, you can view more information about it such as its website and address.
- When you hover on a department, several actions are available:
- Edit Department: change its name, website and address. The organization name cannot be changed via WoSIDM; if a change is needed, submit a support case.
- Create Department: create a child department under this department. To create a department directly under organization click the Create new department button.

Move Department: move this department to a different parent. When you move a department , publications from the moved department are now counted under its new parent department, as metrics are aggregated according to the organizational hierarchy .
