Research Performance Summary Organization Report

  • Extended benchmarking - When comparing against an Organization or a Group, the Impact tab charts now display data for these organizations. For groups, individual organizations within the selected group are displayed. This enhancement provides deeper insights into comparative performance, and applies to the following charts:
    • Publications per Year
    • Open Access Publications
    • Times Cited and Category Normalized Citation Impact per Year
  • New bubble chart added showing organizations by Documents in the Top 10%, Category Normalized Citation Impact (CNCI), and number of Web of Science publications.
  • The Compare by benchmarking logic for Groups was updated. The following metrics now benchmark against the group average instead of the group total, providing a more balanced and representative comparison across groups:
    • Publications
    • Times Cited
    • Highly Cited Papers
    • Documents relevant to SDGs
    • Non-academic Collaborations
    • Documents cited in patents
    • External Funding
    • Grants Awarded
  • New theme colors for visualizations: All charts now feature an updated theme color for improved clarity, consistency, and visual appeal.

Societal Impact Report:

  • Forward-looking Indicators – Collaboration: The chart tooltip was expanded to provide deeper insights into collaboration metrics. In addition to showing counts by organization type, it now includes the unique count of annual collaborations across all organization types. This means that if a publication involves multiple organizations (for example both a Government and a Health organization) it will be counted once in the unique total—giving you a clearer view of distinct collaborative efforts based on publications.
  • Tooltip added to the Societal Facets selector (for example Technological, Economic).
  • The Change Chart Type option on the Societal Impact Profile chart is now integrated into the chart’s more menu.
To change the chart type, simply click the more menu (three dots) at the top-right of the chart and select your preferred visualization.
  • Chart colors: charts showing publications related to United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) now align with the SDG colors. Updated charts include:
    • Publications by UN SDG and Publication Year under Relevance
    • Publications by UN SDG and Publication Year under Uptake in R&D Beyond Academia

Research Intelligence Assistant

We updated and expanded the options to modify charts in the Research Intelligence Assistant chats. You can now save your chart changes, for example the chart format, axis data and more, and remove saved charts that you no longer need (see more details here).

Organizations and Researchers

Expert Finder - Browse Research Topics - When searching for experts, you can use Research Topics to find researchers in specific fields. You can now see all the topics listed in a hierarchical list which can be searched and explored. This can assist you in finding the most relevant topics for your search from the entire keyword set. For more information on using the research topics for finding experts, see here.

Emerging Topics

  • Connection to funding opportunities - Allows you to view funding opportunities related to an emerging topic from the topic’s Details page.
  • Wordmap - Displays keywords associated with an emerging topic of interest on the Details page.
  • Contributing publications filters - Allows you to filter by core/co-citing publications, year, and document type.

Coming Soon

Reporting

Custom reporting: You will soon be able to create custom reports by adding charts directly from the Research Intelligence Assistant. This feature allows you to insert visualizations into a personalized report and combine insights across multiple areas of research assessment.

Research Intelligence Assistant

When searching for funding opportunities, the agent will be able to leverage the new semantic search functionality which allows a user to conduct contextual, natural language queries across all funding opportunities and the result sets will contain more funding opportunities that are conceptually relevant to the query.

Organizations and Researchers

Expert Finder - Grant data – The Researcher Card will display grant information, including a count of the researcher’s grants, total grant amount and a list of recently awarded grants.

Emerging Topics

  • Semantic search threshold slider - Allows you to modify the threshold of the semantic search to view topics that are more or less related to your search. Lowering the threshold broadens the search results, while raising the threshold narrows the search results.
  • Topographical map view – Will display all emerging topics clustered by emerging topic category in a map visualization. It will reflect set filters from the Emerging Topics page, and you will be able to interact with it in various ways, such as hovering over points for more details, zoom, export, and more.
