July 22nd 2026 Release Notes

New Features

Custom Reports

Create Custom Reports in the Custom Reports workspace:

  • You can now create a Custom Report directly in the Custom Reports workspace, without first generating a chart in the Research Intelligence Assistant.
  • You now have two ways to create a Custom Report:
    • Start from the Research Intelligence Assistant and add generated charts to a report.
    • Create a new report in the Custom Reports workspace and build your analysis directly within the report.

Managing Researcher and Organization Data

  • The Researcher Management feature allows users with the Researcher Management role to manage data of researchers associated with your organization. Researcher admins are now able to make these changes in bulk by exporting the existing researcher list, making changes such as editing their names and department affiliation and uploading the file. Admins can also load their own files, if they follow the required structure.
This feature is accessed in the Web of Science Institutional Data Manager, see more information here

Emerging Topics

  • Document Type filter - you can now filter Emerging Topics titles by document type using the filter found in the filter panel on the Emerging Topics landing page

Funding Opportunities

  • In the Activity Location in the Advanced Funding Search, you can now use a type-ahead to select continents and regions, for example Australian States & Territories and US States, in addition to countries. This enables you to search for funding opportunities where the research may be conducted anywhere in Asia for example. Over the coming months, we will also introduce a geographic tree for both Activity Location and Applicant/Institution Location from which you can pick a country or region.
  • We re-designed all funding result pages to have pagination instead of infinite scroll.

Coming Soon

Web of Science Institutional Data Manager

Researcher admins will soon be able to export and update their affiliated researchers’ publication lists in bulk by uploading a file. Publications can be removed or added.
