New Features

Societal Impact Reports

Medical Guidelines: New content and indicators were added to the Societal Impact Organization and Project Reports to capture evidence of institutional research informing medical guidance.

Medical Guidelines include documents from the Web of Science Medline Collection with a publication type of Guideline or Practice Guideline, also indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection.

The new indicators are based on:

  • Medical guidelines created in collaboration with the institution, highlighting institutional participation in guideline development.
  • Publications cited by medical guidelines, showing where institutional research has informed clinical or medical guidance.

In the Societal Impact Project Report:

  • Project Creation: Medical Guidelines indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection can be added to a project as a publication.
  • For each publication included in a project, we check:
    • If the publication is a medical guideline
    • If the publication has been cited by a medical guideline

Export Contributing Records

Users can now export Contributing Records from the Organization and Project Reports to CSV, giving them record-level access to the raw data behind each indicator, including patent applications, granted patents, clinical trials, and other evidence used in the report.

Managing Researcher and Organization Data

Administrators with the Researcher management role can manage a researcher’s publication list to ensure the accuracy of the researcher data and to improve the organizational data quality for reporting and discovery.

  • Publications can be removed, and can be added by identifier or from another profile in the organization.
  • Duplicate profiles can be merged by moving all publications from one of the profiles to the other. If the empty profile is unclaimed it will be deleted after validation.

Expert Finder enhancements

Search results
  • To provide a broader view of research activity, we now include preprint information:
    • We added a column to the search results with the preprints count
    • The years of activity now capture preprint years as well. Accordingly the field was renamed from “Publication Years”  to “Activity Years” and the filter now includes both publications and preprints.
  • To help identify the relevant researcher when there are multiple results with the same name, the researcher identifiers are now displayed in the search results:
    • Web of Science RID
    • ORCiD (if available)
Researcher card
  • You can now navigate search results directly within the researcher card, without closing it, using the Back and Forward arrows at the top of the card.
  • Topics are now organized into meso level (second level) groups to improve discoverability and provide better context. Each group is visually distinguished by color. Topics continue to be ordered by their relevance.
  • A new Impact tab is now available, featuring a visualization of publications and times cited per year, helping you better understand a researcher’s output and citation activity over time.
  • The researcher ORCiD is now displayed in the researcher card (if available).

You can expand and collapse the list, page-through topics under each category, and access the detail pages of each topic directly from this pageview.

Map View export

You can now export the map view to PDF (in addition to PNG and SVG).  Any semantic search keywords and any filters applied will be included in the export.

Coming soon

Research Intelligence Assistant

Unified Assistant experience – Soon you will be able to interact with any of the Web of Science Research Intelligence Assistants using a unified conversational input that will allow to carry a continuous conversation across all assistants from a single entry point. You will be able to start a conversation directly from the homepage, in addition to starting from the Assistant section. The experience is powered by a multi agent workflow that understands intent, routes tasks intelligently, and preserves context across steps. You will now be able to ask about funding opportunities, analyze research impact, explore collaborations and identify emerging topics in one conversation, either by allowing the multi-agent to route the question to the best matched assistant or by selecting the specific assistant to interact with.

Emerging Topics

List View export – soon you will be able to export the Emerging Topics list view to CSV. Any semantic search keywords and any filters applied will be included in the export.

Organizations and Researchers

Web of Science Institutional Data Manager

The Organization Management feature allows users with the Organization Management role to manage the hierarchical structure of their organization by creating new departments (or any sub-unit), editing department names and moving departments to other parent departments. Soon admins will be able to make these changes in bulk by exporting the existing organizational structure, making multiple changes and uploading the file. Admins will be able to load their own files as well, if they follow a required structure.
